Robert Kya-Hill is an actor, filmmaker, playwright, and musician who has worked on stage and screen in various capacities since the 1950s. In 1962, Kya-Hill, then known as Bob Hill, received the Best Actor Award from the National Evangelical Film Foundation for his performance in the film Dark Valley (1961). He has appeared in the films Slaves (1969), Shaft’s Big Score! (1972), and Death Wish (1974), and in the television series One Life to Live (1973), Roots: The Next Generations (1974), and Good Times (1978).
The Robert Kya-Hill Collection includes several materials from Kya-Hill's career, including personal correspondences, photographs, a DVD of Dark Valley, and a script, press kit, poster, and soundtrack album for Slaves.
