John West is an actor and filmmaker who played professional football with the Los Angeles Raiders and the Ottawa Rough Riders before entering the entertainment business in the mid 1990s. His acting roles include the sitcom Martin and police drama New York Undercover. Despite having no formal film production training, West wrote, starred in, and co-directed (with Amanda Moss Serino) the feature film Bar-B-Q (2001). The John West Collection features several materials related to Bar-B-Q's production and exhibition, including a 35mm print of the full movie, a screenplay, assorted promotional and newspaper clippings, and a VHS recording of television interviews with West at the time of the film’s release.
